Context

Located in Westwood, California, Oakley's Barbershop has been operating since 1898 and is recognized as one of the oldest continuously operating businesses in the United States. As part of an interior refresh, owner Clinton Schudy wanted to upgrade the shop's signage to create a more refined customer experience while maintaining its classic aesthetic.

The client provided their own graphic artwork and required sizes, looking for a reliable signage manufacturer capable of transforming their designs into professionally fabricated, UL-compliant indoor lightboxes with smooth international delivery.

Process

Phase 1: File Verification and Engineering Review

The project began with a comprehensive review of the client-provided artwork and specifications. The LC Sign team carefully verified the graphics for high-resolution UV printing on PVC banner material and evaluated the structural requirements of both the wall-mounted and hanging lightboxes to ensure accurate fabrication according to the approved specifications.

Phase 2: Precision Fabrication & Electrical Setup

After final approval of the proofs, production proceeded immediately. For the primary Single-sided LED Trim Cap Lightbox Sign, the LC Sign team fabricated a 6 cm-deep matte black painted stainless steel return combined with a PVC face featuring custom UV-printed graphics.

The lightbox was equipped with UL-listed 6500K pure white waterproof LEDs and powered by a Mean Well waterproof power driver featuring an aviation connector and US plug, ensuring reliable performance for indoor commercial applications.

Meanwhile, two ultra-thin hanging lightboxes were produced with slim black frames and high-clarity printed graphics, creating a consistent visual experience across the interior space. 

Phase 3: Quality Inspection & Export Preparation

Before shipment, all finished signs underwent illumination testing and quality inspections to verify balanced light distribution, stable electrical connections, and overall product performance.

To support efficient installation at the client's location, LC Sign prepared a complete accessory package, including wire rope suspension cables, hanging chains, aviation connectors, power adapters, and a paper mounting template. All three signs were carefully consolidated into a reinforced wooden crate to ensure safe international transportation.
