Overview
A multi-technology illuminated signage system engineered for MoveandStyle Hannover, one of Germany's leading professional hip-hop dance academies. The project translated high-energy, non-standard brand typography into a coordinated visual identity environment combining RGB dynamic lighting, front-and-back illumination, and precision sloped-edge mini lettering.
The system was developed through engineering-driven feasibility verification and synchronized production management, enabling complex artistic branding to be executed reliably within a fixed European delivery timeline.
Context
MoveandStyle Hannover operates as a high-traffic training and performance environment where brand identity plays a critical role in shaping spatial atmosphere and visitor perception. The academy required a signage partner capable of executing highly customized lighting elements that reflected the movement, rhythm, and energy associated with urban dance culture.
Previous suppliers struggled to manufacture the brand's intricate typographic forms due to structural fragility and lighting consistency challenges. The project therefore required both design interpretation and advanced manufacturing coordination to ensure that creative intent could be transformed into installation-ready illuminated signage.

Challenges
The project required overcoming multiple layers of technical complexity while maintaining delivery certainty.
Complex Typographic Geometry
The brand logo included narrow strokes, sharp angles, and layered three-dimensional forms that created structural stability and light diffusion challenges during fabrication.
Multi-System Lighting Integration
The signage program incorporated front-lit, back-lit, and full RGB dynamic illumination systems. Achieving color synchronization and electrical compatibility across multiple lighting protocols required unified engineering planning.
Non-Standard Craft Execution
Specialized sloped-edge mini letters demanded high-precision CNC machining and strict dimensional tolerance control to maintain consistent visual depth.
Fixed European Delivery Timeline
The client required reliable project scheduling without the extended lead times typically associated with bespoke signage manufacturing.
Process
Phase 1 – Engineering Feasibility & Design Optimization
Using Design-for-Manufacturability (DfM) analysis, each element of the brand typography was deconstructed into structural and optical components. Stroke thickness, internal support structures, and light diffusion spacing were optimized to preserve the original visual style while ensuring mechanical stability and consistent illumination.
This stage allowed the client's unconventional designs to be validated before production, minimizing manufacturing risk.
Phase 2 – Advanced Craft & Lighting Calibration
Precision machining and lighting engineering were applied to support the project's specialized aesthetic requirements.
Sloped-Edge Mini Letters
Three-dimensional sloped profiles were CNC-machined to create architectural visual depth while maintaining dimensional accuracy and surface uniformity.
RGB Dynamic Lighting Programming
Both back-lit and face-lit RGB signage elements underwent pre-shipment programming and testing cycles. Color transition consistency, brightness calibration, and synchronization performance were verified to ensure stable operation within an active dance studio environment.
Phase 3 – Coordinated Production & Quality Milestones
A staged production quality system was implemented to maintain scheduling reliability despite high design variation.
Each manufacturing stage—including CNC cutting, structural assembly, acrylic processing, and final lighting verification—was monitored against delivery milestones. This process ensured that unique custom elements did not introduce timeline delays.
Outcome
- Successfully executed four distinct illuminated signage technologies within a unified brand system
- Maintained original creative typography while achieving structural and optical manufacturing feasibility
- Delivered all signage components within the confirmed European project schedule
- Enhanced interior atmosphere through synchronized RGB dynamic lighting aligned with performance and training environments
- Provided a visually cohesive identity system across multi-functional studio spaces
